Universal Migrator Part 1: The Dream Sequencer et
Universal Migrator Part 2: Flight of the Migrator sont sortis à l’origine en 2000
Les 2 albums sont sortis après l’album à succès majestueusement tentaculaire Into the Electric Castle paru deux ans auparavant. The Dream Sequencer continue l’intrigue de The Final Experiment (1995). Elle commence en 2084 lorsque la dernière guerre mondiale a anéanti toute vie sur Terre. Flight of the Migrator continue l’histoire du dernier être humain vivant. Le colon vit sur Mars et sa décision est d’utiliser la machine Dream Sequencer pour voyager avant la formation de l’univers.
Les deux albums présentaient une liste de musiciens et chanteurs époustouflants
Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Edward Reekers (Kayak), Damian Wilson (Headspace/Threshold), Neal Morse (Spock’s Beard/Transatlantic/Flying Colors ), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Andi Deris (Helloween), Michael Romeo (Symphony X) et bien d’autres.

« Je dois dire que Into the Black Hole est l’une de mes chansons préférées sur l’album Flight of the Migrator. En particulier à cause de l’incroyable performance vocale du puissant Bruce Dickinson. Ce fut un véritable honneur et plaisir pour moi d’enregistrer l’un de mes chanteurs préférés dans mon studio. J’aime le fait que son chant dans ce morceau soit si différent des albums (souvent plus rapides) d’Iron Maiden. Si vous écoutez bien, vous pouvez entendre que dans cette version remixée, j’ai utilisé des lignes vocales que je n’utilisais pas dans la version originale. Je pense aussi que la batterie a un son beaucoup plus puissant que dans la version originale. »

Les versions re-mixées d’Universal Migrator, Pt. 1 & 2 seront disponibles dans différents formats
1) A limited edition 56-page artbook including a 40-page comic, exclusive images of “the process”, 5 CDs (including previously unreleased audio) and a bonus DVD with 5.1 surround mix, 2 binaural headphone mixes and more.
2) A vinyl box set with 4 LPs on marble vinyl in 2 gatefolds, a 40-page comic book, a bonus DVD, a double-sided poster and a sticker sheet. The vinyl box set is limited to 1000 numbered copies webshop exclusive).
3) 2CD + Bonus CD. Additionally, “The Dream Sequencer” and “Flight of the Migrator” are available separately on 180-gram orange transparent vinyl and digitally on all platforms. The bonus CD will feature an hour of previously unreleased material, ranging from versions of the tracks with different (guide) vocals to entirely new (well, old) tracks that didn’t make the albums and were previously never released.
